Trees, Shrubs & More has an apple orchard? YES we do!  In 2007, we planted 26 apple trees. Then, apple fever set in and in 2008, we planted and nurtured 1200 apple trees! Spring of 2009 brings us an additional 2800 apple trees!  We are now up to 4050  apple trees in our orchard and we will be adding a few more in 2010.   Late in the summer of 2009, the first field of 1200  trees, Callie's Field, was open for picking.  We had hoped for 5-10 apples per tree, but we were blessed with way more than that even after Dale spent all spring thinning the fruit! 2010 should let us harvest from as many as 4000 of the trees.  So, make sure to mark your calenders in the middle of August when the first Galas will be ready, they are awesome!

The high-density orchard contains selected varieties of dwarf trees (no poles needed for pickin'!). We have Empire, Royal Red Empire, Honey Gold, Braeburn, September Wonder Fuji, Jon-A-Red, Cortland, Ultra Gold (Delicious), Ultra Red Gala, Honey Crisp and Candy Crisp apples in the field.  There are 20th Century and Olympic Giant Asian Pears and Moonglow, Red Sensation and Bartlett Pears planted outside of the apple orchard.  We also have great big juicy, thornless blackberries growing.  They are growing using the latest training techniques (green side up:). If you're looking for good family entertainment, mid August through October, our orchard provides great family fun. When they are fresh and available we will have our own home-grown blackberries, pears, apples and midwest-grown, peaches, berries and More!
